COVID-19 / CORONAVIRUS
With everyone on lockdown and the country grinding to a seemingly inevitable stand still, it looks like things are destined to get even stranger and stricter for all of us in the coming weeks.
Lockdown may be all well and good for those who have their own private means of getting around town, for a lucky few, things might not even be changing all that much yet. We can still walk, albeit staying 2 metres apart at all times, we can still drive or cycle to and from work but for those people that rely on public transport to get around the city, what are the alternatives when it comes to making those essential trips like providing care for vulnerable relatives or simply stocking the cupboards at home?
A big narrow metal tube with hundreds of mouths and noses pointing straight at each other is not the right place to be in the midst of a pandemic!
DOING OUR BIT
Our fleet is meticulously cleaned and maintained to the highest standard at the best of times but in the harsh light of current events we are doubling efforts and doing everything we possibly can to control the spread of coronavirus. We want to drastically limit the chances of any of our passengers falling victim to the disease while in our care.
On top of the common-sense approaches we should all do automatically like covering our mouths when you cough or sneeze, catching it, killing, it, binning it and exercising social distancing wherever possible, we have provided our drivers with anti-bacterial disinfectant to wipe down all hard surfaces before and after each hire. This includes all interior surfaces such as the dashboard and seat backs and external surface such as door handles and child seats.
We are also taking extra care to ensure that all of our car seats are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each use too.
Washing hands regularly using soap and water or an alcohol gel has been shown to be the most effective way of preventing the transmission of coronavirus. Given this we have made hand sanitiser available to all of our drivers and customers and urge them to use it as often as necessary.
Our PRE-BOOK, PRE-PAY, PICK-UP system means fares are settled in advance and eliminates the need for hand to hand transfer of cash or credit/debit cards which could spread the virus.
These measures will be in place for as long as is necessary to protect our drivers and our customers - nothing is more valuable to us than their safety.
YOUR CARE - OUR RESPONSIBILITY
So, rest assured, while you are doing your best to protect yourself and your loved ones, Glasgow Airport Cabs will be on call for those essential journeys throughout this time doing exactly the same.
Stay Safe.
