THE GREAT INDOORS
Things to do in Glasgow When its Wet
You may have heard - Recently, the weather in Glasgow has been honkin'.
If you're landing here soon, or are about to catch your airport transfer as the rain skelps the windshield, you might be thinking, 'What am I going to do with myself?'
Sightseeing and the parks are possibly out of the question (unless you've packed a smashing big pair of wellies). With that in mind, my top tip for dry entertainment is... drumroll...
The Glasgow Film Festival

The GFF has established itself as a major player in the cultural calendar. It's now in the top 3 biggest film festivals in the UK!
This year it is running from February 26th to March 8th. Bringing together a cracking programme of films from around the world, there is always something for everyone:
Fancy seeing a romantic entertainment with a significant other? Check.
A blood and guts scare-fest? Check
A 3-hour-plus black and white avantegarde experimental art piece? Usually, Check!
There is also a chance to brush shoulders with the stars. A couple of years ago, I said hello to Richard Gere! (This makes us friends now, doesn't it?.. Aye it does. Definitely does.)

Whilst the GFF takes place in venues all around the city, its main base of operations is the Glasgow Film Theatre.
This cinema on Rose Street has been serving up high-quality films for 80 years! A cultural institution, it is definitely worth a visit, even if you've just missed the festival.
If the silver screen isn't really your thing, here are a few other choices:
If it's late night belly-laughs you're after, the city has plenty of patter-merchants treading the boards! The Stand, The Rotunda, and The Glee Club are well worth a visit.
Art GalleriesThrow a stone in Glasgow and the chances are... you'll hit someone who will be able to give you directions to an art gallery. For fans of modern art the city center has the Gallery of Modern Art and the CCA. For those looking for more classical work there is the famous Kelvingrove Museum in the West End. C'mon and see the Dali!
If all else fails...
There are PLENTY of pubs to keep a roof over the head and fire in the belly. When in rome!
